Amra
About
Amra
Amra is one of Amsterdam's most exciting new culinary discoveries and brings the rich traditions of Georgian cuisine to the Jordaan. Opened in 2025, the intimate restaurant was founded by Georgian artist Tamar Merabishvili and Italian chef Alessio Corvi, who share a passion for Georgian culture, hospitality and food. The name Amra means sun, symbolising warmth and light. The cosy dining room accommodates around twenty-six guests and features deep purple walls inspired by Georgian wine and artwork created by the owner herself. Traditional recipes handed down through generations are presented with a modern touch. Signature dishes include khinkali dumplings, khachapuri cheese bread and slow-cooked meat dishes, all designed for sharing. Wine plays a central role at Amra, with a focus on Georgian bottles and traditional qvevri wines fermented in clay vessels.
