Bourbon Street
About
Bourbon Street
Bourbon Street has been at the heart of Amsterdam’s live-music scene since 1990. This intimate music club brings high-quality bands, talented local musicians and touring international artists to its stage seven nights a week.
Although Bourbon Street began as a blues club, its programme now reaches far beyond a single genre. Depending on the evening, expect blues, soul, funk, rock, R&B, reggae, folk and groove-heavy cover bands. The small stage places musicians almost directly among the crowd, creating the spontaneous energy and close connection that are impossible inside a large concert hall.
Jam sessions are an important part of Bourbon Street’s identity. During the regular Bourbon Jam, musicians from Amsterdam and abroad can bring their instrument, join the house musicians and create something completely unrehearsed. Even if you never step onto the stage yourself, these unpredictable nights often produce some of the venue’s most memorable performances.
The atmosphere is casual, friendly and international, attracting music lovers of different ages and backgrounds. As the night develops, the area in front of the stage fills with dancing, turning Bourbon Street from a live-music bar into a genuine late-night club. Come for one drink and you may easily find yourself staying until the final song.
