Cafe Nol
About
Cafe Nol
Café Nol is one of Amsterdam's most famous pubs and a true institution in the Jordaan. The café opened in 1966 when Nol and Miep Uilenbroek took over the former Café Huisman and transformed it into the colorful venue that generations of Amsterdammers have come to love. Their motto was simple: Een café waar altijd lol is. The interior is unlike any other bar in the city. Red carpets, chandeliers, mirrors, lace curtains and neon lights create a nostalgic atmosphere that has barely changed since the 1960s. Live performances and Dutch sing-alongs featuring the music of André Hazes, Johnny Jordaan and Willy Alberti have made Café Nol one of the most recognizable nightlife venues in Amsterdam. Café Nol has remained a true family business throughout its history, with successive generations preserving the atmosphere and traditions that have made it famous. More than half a century after opening, the café remains one of the most authentic places to experience the spirit of the Jordaan and Amsterdam's famous gezelligheid.
