De l'Europe Hotel
About
De l'Europe Hotel
Overlooking the Amstel River in the historic heart of the city, De L’Europe Amsterdam has represented classic Amsterdam luxury since 1896. Its distinctive red-brick façade, elegant interiors and prime waterfront location make it one of the capital’s most recognisable hotels. In 2025, De L’Europe became the first hotel in the Netherlands to receive Three Michelin Keys—the guide’s highest hotel distinction.
The hotel offers 107 individually designed rooms and suites, including 55 suites and an extraordinary penthouse that can be expanded to five bedrooms. The style combines traditional elegance with contemporary comfort, while selected rooms feature private balconies and beautiful views across the Amstel.
For something more original, the hotel’s ’t Huys wing features creative suites developed with leading names from Amsterdam’s worlds of art, fashion and design. These include collaborations with the Van Gogh Museum, Harper’s Bazaar and Dutch fashion designer Ronald van der Kemp.
De L’Europe is also one of Amsterdam’s strongest culinary hotels. Two-Michelin-starred Restaurant Flore offers a refined dining experience centred around seasonal and carefully sourced ingredients. Brasserie Marie serves French-inspired dishes beside the Amstel. For drinks, visit the legendary Freddy’s Bar, named after former regular Freddy Heineken and known for its old-world atmosphere and live music.
The hotel’s wellness facilities include a heated indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi, saunas, treatment rooms and a modern fitness studio.
