De Willem
About
De Willem
De Willem is one of Amsterdam's most exciting contemporary hospitality concepts and occupies the historic Haarlemmerpoort, officially known as the Willemspoort. The monumental gate was completed in 1840, one day before the inauguration of King Willem II. After an extensive renovation, the building was transformed into a modern concept consisting of a café, restaurant and wine cellar spread across several floors. The interior was designed by Nicemakers, giving the venue an elegant French atmosphere with marble, wood and warm lighting. Chef Jef van den Hout leads the kitchen, where refined dishes are paired with an impressive wine list featuring both classics and natural wines. With a lively terrace overlooking the water, private dining spaces and an extensive wine cellar, De Willem has quickly become one of the most remarkable dining destinations in the Haarlemmerbuurt.
