Incanto
About
Incanto
Incanto offers an elegant interpretation of Italian dining in the heart of Amsterdam. Located above Muntplein, close to Rembrandtplein and the canal belt, the restaurant provides a peaceful escape from the busy streets below. Its elevated dining rooms, warm lighting and views across the historic city centre make it particularly attractive for romantic dinners and special occasions.
The kitchen combines classical Italian foundations with contemporary presentation. Rather than relying on unnecessary complexity, dishes focus on carefully selected ingredients, balanced flavours and the purity associated with traditional Italian cooking. The seasonal menu changes four times a year, allowing the kitchen to work with ingredients at their best.
Antipasti may include buffalo mozzarella with tomato and pesto, grilled octopus or beef tartare. Pasta and risotto form an important part of the menu, with dishes such as saffron gnocchi with fresh lobster, burrata and lemon, spaghetti cacio e pepe, and fettuccine with lamb ragout. Main courses move between fish, meat and thoughtfully prepared vegetarian options.
Wine is equally important at Incanto. The cellar contains more than 150 selections, with a strong emphasis on Italian regions. The knowledgeable service team can recommend individual glasses, complete bottles or a wine pairing to accompany the chef’s menu.
Guests can order à la carte or choose between two fixed menus. The four-course chef’s menu provides the best introduction to the restaurant’s seasonal cooking, while the signature menu includes a more luxurious main course. Despite the refined presentation and attentive service, the atmosphere remains welcoming and recognisably Italian rather than overly formal.
