KAIA is one of Amsterdam's most exciting modern Greek restaurants and opened in 2023 opposite the RAI in Amsterdam-Zuid. Rather than focusing on traditional stereotypes, the restaurant presents a sophisticated interpretation of Greek cuisine with contemporary techniques, elegant plating and an extensive wine selection. Executive chef Manos Athanasiou leads the kitchen and creates dishes inspired by Greek classics while adding modern influences. Signature dishes include lamb fricassee, lachanodolmas, sea bass and homemade bread served with fig butter and Greek olive oil. The restaurant's open kitchen allows guests to watch the chefs at work, adding to the experience. The interior embraces a quiet luxury style with natural colours, custom tableware and warm lighting. Greek wines, cocktails and music complete the atmosphere, which gradually evolves from refined dining into a lively evening destination.
