Ken Sushi has become one of Amsterdam's most acclaimed Japanese restaurants thanks to its authentic omakase experience and warm family atmosphere. Founded by chef Ken Srisangkhan in 2019, the restaurant began in a small shared location before moving to its current home on the Geldersekade in 2023. Together with his brother Tom and the rest of the family, Ken has created a restaurant where hospitality and craftsmanship are equally important. Guests sit directly in front of the chefs and are guided through a carefully curated tasting menu where every piece of sushi is prepared individually. The word omakase means I leave it up to you, and that philosophy is at the heart of the experience. Chef Ken, who is self-taught and has Thai roots, personally explains many of the ingredients and techniques used throughout the evening. Sessions typically last around two and a half hours, making dinner here feel more like a culinary journey than a traditional restaurant visit.
