Lagom Amsterdam

Lagom Amsterdam is an all-day breakfast and brunch restaurant hidden inside a colourful corner building on Snoekjessteeg, close to the Red Light District.

The name comes from the Swedish word lagom, meaning not too much and not too little—just the right amount. Lagom applies this philosophy to its combination of food, atmosphere and hospitality, creating a relaxed brunch spot that feels stylish without becoming overly formal.

Although the philosophy is Swedish, the menu travels much further. Breakfast classics are combined with Mediterranean, Turkish, Korean and American influences. Popular egg dishes include shakshuka, eggs Benedict and Çılbır, which combines poached eggs with Turkish garlic yoghurt, chilli oil, dill and toasted bread.

Visitors with a sweet tooth can choose banana-oat pancakes, changing monthly pancake specials or blueberry French toast with whipped ricotta, maple syrup and cinnamon. More substantial options include a complete hangover breakfast, a Korean fried chicken burger, avocado toast and generously filled sandwiches.

Later in the day, the menu expands naturally into lunch and drinks. Truffle fries, crispy cauliflower and Korean fried chicken can be ordered as snacks, while cocktails such as the Pickled Bloody Mary turn an ordinary breakfast into a boozy brunch.

Vegetarian and vegan choices are clearly represented throughout the menu, while several dishes are described as halal-friendly. Plant-based milk and coconut yoghurt alternatives are also available.
