Lucius
About
Lucius
Lucius is the oldest seafood restaurant in Amsterdam and has been serving exceptional fish and shellfish in the heart of the city since 1975. Over the decades, both Amsterdammers and international visitors have made their way to the restaurant, attracted by its combination of old-fashioned hospitality, professional service and a relaxed atmosphere. Located on the Spuistraat, the restaurant works closely with renowned suppliers and focuses on sustainable North Sea fish, oysters, shellfish and seasonal ingredients. The kitchen is led by chef Rienk Vrij, whose passion for seafood and respect for the natural flavours of the ingredients are central to the menu. Classic dishes are complemented by contemporary culinary touches, while an extensive wine and cocktail list completes the experience. Lucius is especially famous for its oysters, fruits de mer platters and Dover sole. The tiled walls and classic interior have remained part of the restaurant's identity for decades.
