Omelegg City Centre

Omelegg City Centre is a popular all-day breakfast restaurant specialising almost entirely in omelettes and creative egg dishes. Located on Nieuwebrugsteeg, between Amsterdam Central Station and the Red Light District, it is particularly convenient for an early breakfast before exploring the historic centre.

Omelegg uses free-range eggs and prepares every dish to order with fresh ingredients. No milk or cream is added to the egg mixture, making the omelettes naturally lactose-free before cheese or other dairy ingredients are added.

The extensive menu ranges from simple combinations to generously filled signature omelettes. The Farm Boy combines bacon, sausage, salami, vegetables, farmer’s cheese and herbs, while the vegetarian Popeye is filled with spinach, mushrooms, onion, cheese and oregano. Other choices include smoked salmon, halloumi, pulled chicken, chorizo, pastrami and spicy sucuk.

Beyond conventional omelettes, the menu includes shakshuka, eggs with bacon and sausage, grilled potatoes and croissants filled with scrambled eggs. Gluten-free bread is available, while the large selection of vegetarian dishes makes Omelegg suitable for different dietary preferences.

The City Centre branch is compact and frequently busy, but service is designed to be quick and efficient. Regular reservations are not accepted, so guests are seated on a walk-in basis.
