Pesca
About
Pesca
Pesca is not an ordinary seafood restaurant. Described as a “Theatre of Fish”, this lively concept on the Rozengracht replaces the traditional menu with an interactive fish market where guests help create their own dining experience.
Your visit begins at the market counter, where the day’s catch is displayed on ice. The selection changes according to availability and may include oysters, mussels, prawns, langoustines, tuna and several varieties of whole fish. The fishmongers explain the options, recommend suitable quantities and discuss how each selection can be prepared. Prices are based on the chosen seafood and its weight, making every meal slightly different.
After selecting the food, guests continue to the wine market to find a bottle that complements their choices. The kitchen then transforms everything into a succession of dishes designed for sharing. From raw preparations and grilled shellfish to beautifully cooked whole fish with sauces and seasonal side dishes.
The large dining room is colourful, theatrical and constantly buzzing with activity. Fishmongers call out the latest catch, bottles move between the wine market and tables, and dishes arrive in waves throughout the evening. The atmosphere feels closer to a lively Mediterranean fish market than a formal fine-dining restaurant.
Pesca is especially enjoyable with a group, allowing you to order several different types of seafood and share everything at the table. Come for the fresh fish, stay for the spectacle and expect dinner to feel like a complete night out.
