Saint Jean

Saint Jean has rapidly become one of Amsterdam's most celebrated bakeries and is widely regarded as one of the pioneers of high-end plant-based pastry. Located in the Jordaan, the bakery combines French baking traditions with a modern approach and has developed a devoted following among both locals and visitors. Long queues outside the door have become a familiar sight, especially during weekends. The bakery is famous for its flaky croissants, pain au chocolat, cinnamon buns, focaccia and seasonal pastries. Despite being entirely plant-based, the pastries are renowned for their buttery texture and exceptional quality. Specialty coffee and freshly baked sourdough breads complete the experience. Due to its popularity, Saint Jean expanded across the street with a dedicated deli.
