Salmuera

Salmuera brings the flavours of Latin America to an atmospheric restaurant on the Rozengracht. The menu moves between Argentina, Mexico, Peru and other parts of the continent, combining traditional dishes with modern interpretations and ingredients cooked over an open fire.

Begin with empanadas, ceviche, tuna tostadas or tacos before moving on to grilled octopus, prawns and Argentine Black Angus steaks. Larger cuts are ideal for sharing and can be combined with sides such as grilled corn, crispy potatoes with huancaína sauce and rice with chorizo.

The dark interior, open kitchen, lively music and energetic service give Salmuera the feel of a complete night out. It is equally suitable for a date, celebration or dinner with friends, although the atmosphere becomes louder and busier later in the evening.

Drinks are a major part of the experience. Salmuera started as Amsterdam’s first mezcaleria and now holds more than one hundred different mezcals, alongside rare Mexican spirits and a creative Latin American cocktail menu.
