The Dylan Amsterdam

Hidden behind an understated entrance on the prestigious Keizersgracht, The Dylan Amsterdam is one of the city’s most intimate luxury hotels. Its location in the heart of the Nine Streets places guests among independent boutiques, galleries, cafés and some of Amsterdam’s most beautiful canals.

The site has a remarkable history. Amsterdam’s first stone theatre opened here in 1638 and once welcomed guests including members of European royalty. The theatre was destroyed by fire in 1772, but its original stone gateway survived and still forms the impressive entrance to the hotel. Following an extensive restoration, the property opened as a luxury boutique hotel in 1999.

The Dylan offers just 41 individually designed rooms and suites, creating a much more personal atmosphere than Amsterdam’s larger five-star hotels. Guests can choose from four distinctive interior styles: Amber, Loft, Loxura and Serendipity. Some rooms feature original wooden beams and views of the secluded garden, while selected suites overlook the Keizersgracht.

The culinary highlight is Restaurant Vinkeles, awarded two Michelin stars and located inside the building’s former 18th-century bakery. Original ovens and historic details form the backdrop for refined French-inspired cuisine with a contemporary character. Bar Brasserie OCCO offers a more relaxed alternative for breakfast, lunch, dinner, cocktails and the hotel’s signature High Wine experience.

During the warmer months, OCCO also serves guests in The Dylan’s beautiful secluded garden, an unexpectedly peaceful oasis in the middle of Amsterdam.
