Toscanini is a cozy Italian restaurant known for its authentic pasta dishes and warm atmosphere. Hidden beneath the Waldorf Astoria Amsterdam, Vault Bar occupies the building’s original bank vault. The enormous vault door, reinforced walls and preserved safe-deposit boxes give the bar an atmosphere unlike anywhere else in the city, while the luxurious furnishings and highly personal service reflect its five-star surroundings.

Led by an experienced team of bartenders, the menu features inventive signature cocktails, exceptional spirits and contemporary small bites. The bar is also known for its remarkable whisky collection, which has included some of the world’s rarest and most exclusive bottles available by the glass.

Vault Bar feels secretive, sophisticated and genuinely special without being reserved exclusively for hotel guests. Its combination of history, craftsmanship and world-class hospitality earned it a place among Forbes Travel Guide’s Hotel Star Bars in 2026, the only bar in the Netherlands to receive the distinction that year.
