Weinlokal Stern is one of Amsterdam's most exciting new restaurants and occupies the former home of the acclaimed restaurant Breda on the Singel. Opened in early 2026, the concept was created by Chanan Wisse, Mo Moody and chef Luke de Jong together with the team behind Scheepskameel. Their goal was simple: introduce Amsterdam to the richness and sophistication of modern German cuisine. The kitchen focuses on Neue Deutsche Küche, a contemporary interpretation of classic German dishes. Guests can enjoy specialties such as currywurst, spätzle, bratwurst, sauerkraut fritters and Saumagen, alongside products from the North and Baltic Seas. Wine is at the heart of the experience, with an extensive list centred around German wines and sekt. Combined with warm hospitality and the elegant setting overlooking the Singel canal, Weinlokal Stern has quickly established itself as one of Amsterdam's most distinctive wine destinations.
